I’m not gonna tell you about the show I played for Relay for Life.

I’m not gonna tell you about how it felt when I started playing my slow rendition of “Let it Be” by the Beatles, and seeing my friends from all corners of the track rush to the stage to grab a seat.  And when there weren’t any seats, a whole bunch of them sat on the grass, right in front of me.  I’m not gonna tell you about how that felt.

I’m also not going to tell you how it felt when I told the crowd I was going to play “Night Lights” and there was an eruption from the audience.  And whenever I played the chorus, I could hear them singing along with me.  I’m not going to tell you how it felt to hear my lyrics being sung back to me.

I’m not gonna tell you about how it felt looking into the crowd and knowing a majority of the names there.  And finding the few people I don’t know, and making eye contact with them, thanking them silently for sticking around for someone they didn’t know.  Nope.  Not gonna tell you about that either.

And I’m especially not going to tell you how it felt when I finished the show with my newest song, with no title yet, and hearing the audience of friends erupt in applause, and then a standing ovation.  Everything I could have ever wished to happen in a show… and I’m not going to tell you anything.

All you get is this picture.  And ironic post.

Thank you.  My music wouldn’t be much without the friends who listen and support it.
